Description
Molafate 500mg/5ml Susp 60ml is a suspension formulation of famotidine, a histamine H2-receptor antagonist. It is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The recommended dosage is 10-20 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 6-8 hours, not to exceed 40 mg/kg/day. Common side effects include headache, dizziness, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and rash. Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, liver disease, and bleeding disorders.
