Ondansetron Mahakam 4mg Tablet is a medication used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. It belongs to a class of medications called antiemetics. The typical dosage is 8-16mg orally 30 minutes before treatment, with a maximum dose of 16mg every 4 hours as needed. Common side effects include headache, dizziness, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, and injection site reactions. Rare side effects include allergic reactions, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and anaphylaxis. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to ondansetron or any component of the formulation. Interactions may occur with other medications, including antacids, antihistamines, and other antiemetics.
