It works by blocking the effects of aldosterone, a hormone that causes the body to retain water and sodium. Indication: Heart failure, edema associated with congestive heart failure. Dosage: 25-100mg per day, taken orally, in divided doses. Safety: Common side effects include dizziness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Rare side effects include liver damage, kidney damage, and allergic reactions. Storage: Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
