Pradaxa Tablet is a medication used to prevent stroke and systemic embolism in non-valvular atrial fibrillation, as well as to treat deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. It works by inhibiting the activity of thrombin, a key enzyme in the blood clotting process. The recommended dose is 150mg twice daily, although patients with moderate renal impairment may require a dose of 110mg twice daily. Common side effects include gastrointestinal bleeding, thrombocytopenia, anemia, headache, and dizziness. Pradaxa is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment, active bleeding, or a history of gastrointestinal bleeding.
