Bisoprolol fumarate is a beta-blocker that works by blocking the effects of the hormone epinephrine, also known as adrenaline, and by slowing the heart rate and reducing its workload. This can help to reduce the symptoms of heart failure and improve the patient's quality of life. Indication: Heart failure. Dosage: 1.25 mg once daily, which may be increased to 2.5 mg once daily after 2 weeks if tolerated. Safety: Common side effects include fatigue, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and headache. Rare side effects include bradycardia, hypotension, and worsening heart failure. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Precaution: Use with caution in patients with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or a history of bronchospasm.
