The tablet should be taken every 4-6 hours as needed, not to exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours. Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, stomach upset, and dry mouth. Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease, and in those taking other medications that may interact with guaifenesin.
